Join designer Sanne Visser for an engaging and inspiring ropemaking workshop. In this 2.5-hour session, you will delve into the art of traditional craft techniques, learning to design your own decorative and practical handmade ropes. Unleash your creativity by transforming fibres into beautiful garlands, wreaths, tree decorations, and more getting you ready for this festive season.

After a brief introduction to Sanne's work as a internationally renowned designer, researcher, and maker, she will guide you on a journey to explore a new craft. Experiment with different and unusual sustainable materials (including hair!) as you design and craft your own unique objects and gifts.

This workshop is perfect for anyone eager to discover the intricacies of materials, fibres, ropemaking techniques, knots, finishing, and braiding applications—all while enjoying an evening filled with hands-on creativity and joy.

No prior experience is required, making it suitable for all abilities. All materials, tools, and refreshments (incl. mulled wine) are provided. Feel free to bring your own materials too, if desired.
The workshop commences at 18:30, so please ensure you arrive on time to catch the introduction.
